Tomorrow - December 30, 2015, I'll give my Prezi "Sticky Presentations". You can see it yourself at this link http://prezi.com/hucwdjrh9fks/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy&rc=ex0share
I just came across this wonderful training on how to use Google slides to make interactive stories, quizzes and jeopardy games. This site describes how (just in one page), gives examples and even has a couple Jeopardy templates. Thanks to Eric Curts for posting this. http://ti.apps.sparcc.org/videopd/20150205-interactive-slides_
Here are some lists of ESL resources - I haven't checked them all out yet but will post comments on them as I gain more familiarity with them.
I'm using flipedu.org as a resource place for my students. Any ELI students are welcome to use it so teachers, feel free to give them the link. They will find links for the various levels. Currently, there's just a link for level 102 and level 103. I hope that over this 2015-2016 school year, I can make it more robust and include all the levels. If you want me to upload something for your students, just email it to me and I will! Laura@EnjoyEducation.org
Hope to see you there for my presentation, "mLearning in Your Classroom. Go Mobile!" It's at KAU (bldg 9, room 931 from 12-1:00)
I've come across a good guidebook. One section talks about considerations that administration should have when starting an online program or supplement. So I'm going to hang onto it for that. It also has a list of universities, per state, that offer online courses along with a description. That looks very helpful too for anyone thinking of starting a new degree or program. http://www.accreditedschoolsonline.org/online-schools-guidebook/
One of my favorite stories about pedagogy concerns the epiphany Dr. Mazur had when he started using an interactive method in his Harvard physics classes.... in ESL, we've been doing this for decades but it's nice to see it crossing over into other disciplines...Read the story here
ClassFlow is a website and app that combines Socrative, NearPod, and InfuseLearning. Can't wait till they've got Smart phone functionality working. Should be coming soon in 2015..
This little video by and about Powtoons does a great job of explaining why visuals are so important.... and why we shouldn't put a ton of text into a presentation. I wish everyone could get this message! See the 2" video here....
